The 5th Annual #50Wards50Meals Thanksgiving Food Drive & Fundraiser

At the time of writing of this blog post we are 6 days away from our 5th Annual #50Wards50Meals Thanksgiving Food Drive. This is our annual event where we prepare and distribute home cooked meals to the homeless and low-income residents on the Southside and Westside of Chicago

We also just recently rebuilt our site here at www.thecantavefoundation.org and launched it LIVE today. It’s been a busy month and an even busier year for us here at the Foundation as we’ve worked to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing our mission.

The Food Drive

We are all set and prepared to hit the streets with our volunteers on Thanksgiving morning. We have parterned with a catering company this year to help with the food preparation which we would normally do ourselves. Leveraging our partnerships with other vendors allows us to more efficiently pull our food drive together so we can ensure that we are getting the most meals to the people on the streets that need it the most.

Our goal this year is 500+ meals and we will most likely exceed that number given the donations that we’ve received.
